Living with it

Cleaning, care and re-sealing

Day-to-day care is simple. Here is what to expect, when re-sealing is typically needed, and what is included after handover.

A seamless surface is easy to live with, but it is not maintenance-free. A little routine care keeps it looking its best, and a periodic re-seal keeps it protected.

The first weeks

The first period matters most. After the install, the area stays off-limits for about 7 days while the sealers cure. There is a light sealer odour for the first 2 to 3 days. Full cure takes about 30 days.

During that time, be gentle with the surface and follow the guidance we give you at handover.

Everyday cleaning

Every client receives a care kit at handover, with what you need and instructions for using it. In general, day-to-day care is about regular, gentle cleaning and avoiding anything harsh that could wear the sealer.

The exact products and routine are covered in your care kit, so please follow those over general advice from elsewhere.

What the sealer does

The finish itself is water resistant, and the sealers protect against stains. The final layer is the Atriapol protective topcoat. It takes the daily wear, which is why looking after it matters.

When to re-seal

Re-sealing is typically needed every three to four years, depending on use. A busy family bathroom or a high-traffic living floor will sit toward the shorter end. A guest bathroom may go longer.

Re-sealing refreshes the protective layer. It is a planned part of owning the surface, rather than a repair.

The 24-month check-up

We include a free on-site check-up at 24 months. We look at how the surface is wearing and advise on re-seal timing for your particular household, so you are not guessing.

Warranties

Your project comes with a 5-year workmanship warranty from MicroLux and a 10-year product warranty from Atria Australia. Both are transferable to a new owner, which is worth knowing if you sell.

If you are unsure

If you are ever unsure about a product or a mark on the surface, ask us before trying something. A quick question is easier than fixing a mistake.
