Introduction
MicroLux Finishes ("MicroLux", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. This policy explains what we collect, how we use and store it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or ask us to delete it. It applies to information collected through our website, our forms (including the Seamless Home guide form, the Project Fit Call booking survey, the price calculator, the aftercare request form, the showroom interest form, the website chat, and job applications), and any direct communication by phone, email or SMS. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as a matter of good practice.
What we collect
Contact details (name, email, phone, suburb or postcode). Project information (property type, timing, budget range, the spaces and surfaces involved, photos you choose to send). Booking information for Project Fit Calls and Site Assessments. Chat messages you send through our website chat. Job application details (work history, CV, photos of past work, availability). Communications (emails, form submissions, SMS, call notes). Technical information collected automatically via cookies (IP address, browser, device, pages visited, referral source). Marketing interaction data such as the ad, campaign or channel that brought you to our site (including UTM tags and ad click identifiers), collected via tools such as the Meta Pixel, the Google Ads tag and Google Tag Manager. We do not knowingly collect sensitive information unless you volunteer it, and we do not collect information from children.
How we collect it
Directly from you when you fill out a form, use the price calculator or chat, book a Project Fit Call, apply for a job, or call, email or message us; automatically through cookies; and from service providers who help us run our website and enquiries, such as our CRM and booking platform GoHighLevel and our advertising platforms Meta and Google.
Why we use it
To respond to your enquiry and send resources you request; assess whether your project is a good fit; arrange, confirm and remind you about calls, assessments, re-seals and check-ups; prepare proposals and deliver our services; assess job applications; send relevant follow-up by email or SMS where you have consented; improve our website and marketing using aggregated, de-identified insights; and meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations. We only use your information for the purpose it was collected for, or one you would reasonably expect.
Cookies and website tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel, the Google Ads tag and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use our site, measure our advertising, and show relevant MicroLux ads elsewhere. You can control cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad personalisation through Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) and your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
Email and SMS
Every marketing email or SMS identifies MicroLux Finishes, includes our contact details and a free, simple way to unsubscribe (Spam Act 2003 (Cth)). Opt out any time via the unsubscribe link, by replying STOP to an SMS, or by contacting us; we action requests within 5 business days.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run the business (such as GoHighLevel and email/SMS delivery providers); advertising platforms such as Meta and Google, which may receive device identifiers and contact details in hashed (encrypted) form to match ad interactions and build or exclude audiences — never in readable form; trusted trade partners or suppliers only where needed to prepare an accurate proposal; professional advisers and regulators where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some providers, including GoHighLevel, Meta and Google, may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they apply appropriate data protection standards.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including reputable password-protected platforms and limited staff access. We keep it only as long as reasonably necessary or as required by law, then securely delete or de-identify it. Unsuccessful job applications are kept for 3 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it where reasonably practicable. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
