FOR PROFESSIONALS

Microcement in commercial fit-outs.

In retail, hospitality and workplace interiors, microcement gives one continuous surface across floors, walls and joinery. Specifying it well comes down to program, performance data and a realistic maintenance plan.

Program and cure

Each coat cures before the next, and durations are set in working days in our proposal. After completion, allow about 7 days before light foot traffic and around 30 days to full use, so plan furniture, fixtures and opening dates around that. Where the program allows, work can be staged area by area.

Performance data to cite

Reaction to fire: A2-s1-d0 to EN 13501-1 for the Atriafloor cycle. Surface hardness Shore D > 65 for the finish coat, and wet abrasion over 10,000 cycles for the topcoat. Hygiene: antibacterial testing to ISO 22196:2011 declared by the manufacturer on New Atriapol Antibacterial, and cleanability to UNI 11021:2002. The full table is on our system specification page.

Slip resistance

Slip requirements in commercial spaces depend on the area and how it's used. We agree the texture and topcoat for each area with the design team and confirm it in writing before work starts.

Maintenance

The topcoat is the wear layer. In high-traffic commercial areas, plan for inspection and a light re-seal on a shorter cycle than a home, scheduled with the operator so it can happen outside trading hours.

Counters, plinths and joinery

The same finish can run onto counters, display plinths, reception desks and bar fronts, finished over your shopfitter's joinery or made by us end to end.
